Overview

In this role you will lead medium to large infrastructure projects for PCL Civil Constructors in Norfolk, driving safety, quality, and schedule while delivering value to clients. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage contracts and stakeholders, and guide projects from design through closeout. Responsibilities
  • Provide contract administration and technical leadership for a medium-sized project
  • Develop and implement the project safety plan and promote safe practices
  • Ensure construction aligns with design, budget, resources, quality, and schedule
  • Offer value engineering proposals based on client drivers
  • Manage project performance with status reports on safety, cost, and schedule
  • Negotiate and issue subcontracts, major purchase orders, and progress payments
  • Enforce contract terms and documents and coordinate closeout
  • Identify and manage risk and opportunities on construction projects
  • For design-build projects: monitor design progress, compliance, quality, constructability, and timing; assist design-management planning and quality audits; communicate with stakeholders
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or related field
  • 8-10 years of progressive construction experience with leadership and mentoring preferred
  • Strong safety culture and knowledge of health, safety, and environment principles and legislation
  • In-depth knowledge of construction industry practice, materials, codes, and quality management
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills with budget and schedule management
  • Ability to identify and manage risk and opportunities; establish relationships with key stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and project management/scheduling software; aptitude for new technology
