Overview In this role you will shape Shell's global Non-Fuel Retail (NFR) and shop formats, leveraging deep engineering and value-engineering expertise to design scalable, cost-competitive retail solutions. You work within a Center of Excellence to translate market insights into safe, customer-focused formats across a worldwide network. You'll lead cross-functional collaboration with marketing, suppliers, and partners to deploy new formats, improve efficiency, and reduce energy use. This is a high-impact, techno-commercial role that combines design direction, standards development, and program leadership to grow Shell's mobility and convenience offerings.

Responsibilities- Lead global engineering and value-engineering solutions for Non-Fuel Retail, including shops, car wash, equipment, fixtures, and signage
- Develop and maintain global engineering design standards and playbooks to enable safe, scalable, cost-competitive shop formats
- Coordinate with markets, suppliers, and partners to optimize design, branding, sourcing, construction, and total cost of ownership
- Translate consumer trends and benchmarks into engineering solutions to improve performance and customer experience
- Support deployment of new shop formats and major changes, including pilot delivery and localization guidance
- Oversee technical assurance and relationships with global framework partners for shop and format delivery
- Shape sourcing strategies for shop equipment and delivery partners to improve quality and speed to market
- Develop and coach market engineers through guidance, training materials, and accreditation for design, maintenance, and construction
- Create engineering solutions to reduce site energy consumption and emissions across the network
- Influence stakeholders in a global virtual environment to align with brand, safety, sustainability, and business goals
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, architecture, project management, or related technical discipline
- At least 8 years of relevant engineering, construction, project delivery, or convenience retail experience
- Hands-on experience delivering shop/store, car wash, or similar retail network projects
- Strong value-engineering mindset to improve cost, quality, safety, scalability, and total cost of ownership
- Experience working with contractors, suppliers, or partners to deliver complex projects
- Strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority
- Visible leadership in health, safety, security, and environmental performance
- Strong project management and multi-workstream delivery capability
- Curiosity and data-driven problem solving to develop better solutions
