Overview In this role, you lead on complex projects within Suffolk's field operations, guiding site activities, safety, and quality while coordinating with owners, architects, and trade partners. You'll drive schedule adherence, constructability reviews, and logistics planning to meet turnover targets. Your leadership will shape on-site execution and collaboration across cross functional teams. Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day job site activities with OSHA safety compliance
- Direct field personnel according to project plan and Suffolk standards
- Communicate progress and issues daily to the Project Manager
- Identify and escalate problems for cost-effective resolutions
- Foster relationships with clients, Suffolk teams, subcontractors, and AHJs
- Maintain relations with union business agents on union projects
- Request guidance from General Superintendent or Project Executive on materials, sequencing, scheduling, and personnel
- Lead project start-up and turnover activities with project leadership
- Contribute to construction scheduling, establish and maintain baseline schedule, and align work with contract requirements
- Provide monthly schedule updates and six-week look-ahead reports
- Lead Pull Planning and six-week make-ready planning sessions
- Ensure subcontractor safety programs and MSD sheets; verify site safety plans and insurance
- Verify benchmarks, QA/QC activities, and inspection processes align with baseline schedule
- Manage pre-construction, mobilization, field office setup, and site documentation
- Oversee subcontractor performance and address personnel or process issues
- Attend and chair project turnover, safety, foreman, schedule, and coordination meetings
- Maintain office checklists, daily reports, and log files; manage drawings and revisions
- Oversee project closeout, utilities transfer, owner training, and punch lists
- Participate as SME in training programs
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in applicable discipline
- 8 to 12 years of construction experience with project size/complexity variation
- Applicable area licenses
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Ability to handle ambiguity and multi-task under tight oversight
- Strong business judgment to balance budget and construction processes
