Senior Compensation Manager, Sales

Overview

In this role you partner with the Sales organization to design and manage compensation programs that drive performance and growth. You will lead end-to-end compensation cycles, provide data-driven guidance on offers and promotions, and build tools and frameworks that empower sales leadership and HR partners. You will own governance and analytics for Sales incentives, collaborating across Finance, Sales Ops, Recruiting and HR. This is a fast-moving, autonomous position that shapes compensation strategy in a global, tech-enabled environment. A strong emphasis on influencing senior stakeholders and delivering tangible business impact is a key hook of this opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • Act as dedicated compensation partner for the Sales organization, supporting leaders and People Partners
  • Provide data-informed guidance on offers, internal equity, leveling, promotions, retention, and out-of-cycle requests
  • Develop deep understanding of Sales incentive plans and support their design and effectiveness
  • Own end-to-end Sales compensation cycle execution: market benchmarking, budget modeling, manager enablement, leadership rollups
  • Lead competitive intelligence on Sales roles, pay practices, trends, and talent movement
  • Augment survey data with recruiting signals and market sources to inform decisions
  • Partner with Recruiting and People Partners on market insights and competitive positioning
  • Analyze programs using data and feedback; recommend improvements for growth, retention, and pay-for-performance
  • Lead strategic projects such as incentive-plan governance, job architecture, or compensation-planning tool implementations
  • Develop manager enablement materials and training on compensation philosophy and decision-making
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of compensation experience with significant experience as a compensation business partner
  • Proven track record supporting Sales with end-to-end ownership of cyclical compensation programs
  • Experience implementing, administering, and communicating Sales incentive plans
  • Strong understanding of Sales compensation concepts: quota/goals, pay mix, crediting, accelerators, thresholds, caps, guarantees, governance
  • Experience partnering with Finance and Sales Operations on modeling, budgeting, forecasting, attainment analysis, and reporting
  • Knowledge of third-party survey methodologies (e.g., Radford, WTW) and ability to build/validate pay structures across geographies
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and executive-presenting skills
