Overview In this role you will support the Crow family's trust and estate matters, operating within a high-volume, multidisciplinary environment. You will assist in developing, implementing, and administering estate plans, trusts, and related structures, coordinating with outside counsel and internal partners. You'll oversee trust operations, foundations, marital property agreements, and estate administration to ensure compliance and timely execution. This position offers the opportunity to shape sophisticated family estate planning within a leading real estate firm.
Responsibilities- Operate the private trust company, including oversight of trust investments, board/committee materials, and regulatory reporting
- Develop and implement estate plans for family members, coordinating with outside counsel
- Form and structure trusts with counsel (situs, trustees, funding, beneficiaries)
- Maintain family foundations in tax-compliant manner
- Structure and administer marital property agreements
- Administer estates, probate, and coordinate with tax/legal/valuation professionals
- Plan and implement family business ownership structures related to trusts
- Administer life insurance programs and underwriting for new/terminated policies
- Collaborate with legal, tax, accounting, and treasury teams on estate matters
- Attend to additional related matters as needed
Key requirements- 2+ years as an attorney at a major law firm or 3-5 years as a CPA at a major accounting firm
- Experience advising on trust and estate planning, implementation, documentation, and administration
- Strong knowledge of state and federal trust and estate laws and planning strategies
- Familiarity with individual, trust, and flow-through entity tax issues
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with document management systems (DocuWare a plus)
