Overview

In this role, you will operate in a cutting-edge clinical laboratory to deliver high-quality molecular test data with rapid turnaround. You will perform complex molecular procedures and uphold rigorous quality standards, contributing to real-world insights that inform cancer treatment. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to troubleshoot, document, and stay compliant with CAP/CLIA and NYSDOH regulations. This position offers the chance to impact patient care through precise, scalable molecular testing and data management.

Responsibilities
  • Perform molecular-based procedures with high quality following established protocols
  • Identify and correct deviations from SOPs and implement standard fixes
  • Troubleshoot under direction and contribute to solution implementation
  • Execute molecular techniques (qPCR, NGS, nucleic acid extraction, DNA/RNA quantification/qualification, genotyping)
  • Conduct quality control, calibration, maintenance, and proficiency testing per procedures
  • Sterilize equipment and workspaces as assigned
  • Enter clinical patient data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Maintain competency in all molecular biology protocols following CAP, CLIA, NYSDOH regulations
Key requirements
  • MS in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical or biological science with 0-6 years of pertinent clinical lab experience (molecular biology)
  • BS in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical or biological science with 0-6 years of pertinent clinical lab experience (molecular biology)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to collaborate to plan and carry out scientific programs
  • Self-driven and effective in interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong desire to contribute to products that save lives and change cancer treatment
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Desirable: experience with next-generation sequencing; CLIA/CAP high-complexity lab experience; robotics and automated liquid handling; knowledge of LIMS platforms and computer systems
