Overview In this role you will prepare detailed electrical cost estimates and bid packages for commercial, data center, and ITS projects. You collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to deliver bid-ready proposals while ensuring cost control. You will perform quantity takeoffs, analyze pricing, and support pre-construction activities to help secure projects. The role combines trade knowledge with estimating expertise to optimize scope, schedule, and value. This is a hands-on position with a clear impact on winning bids and project execution.

Responsibilities- Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates and bid packages from drawings, specifications, and RFPs
- Perform takeoffs for conduit, conductors, raceways, devices, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, ITS, and other systems using Accubid and Excel
- Develop material, labor, and equipment quantities and pricing; maintain estimate databases and assemblies
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers on scope, pricing, and schedule assumptions
- Evaluate subcontractor proposals and incorporate trade pricing into final bids
- Participate in pre-bid and pre-construction meetings; review site conditions and clarification requests
- Produce complete bid submissions including scope narratives, clarifications, exclusions, and supporting documentation
- Perform value engineering and constructability reviews to optimize cost and schedule
- Maintain version control and documentation of estimates, bid results, and lessons learned
- Support transition from estimating to project execution with takeoff backup and clarifications
Key requirements- 3+ years of estimating experience in electrical construction or demonstrated proficiency in estimating, electrical, and construction disciplines
- Proven ability to perform detailed takeoffs and produce accurate, competitive bids
- Proficient with Accubid and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, and estimating spreadsheets)
- Familiarity with commercial, data center and ITS project types and related electrical systems and codes
- Experience with bidding processes, RFP responses, and pre-construction activities
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills with attention to detail and deadline-driven mindset
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and single-line diagrams
- Preferred: prior role as an estimator and experience with takeoffs, bidding, pre-construction coordination, and direct-hire subcontractor pricing
- Preferred: experience on commercial and data center projects and familiarity with ITS systems
