Overview In this role you will lead environmental reviews and permit coordination for utility projects within Stantec's Northern California Environmental Services-Power Utility team. You'll guide multi-disciplinary teams, oversee biological surveys and reporting, and support CEQA/NEPA efforts to advance energy projects. You will contribute to proposals, client presentations, and cross-agency collaboration, shaping how projects meet environmental standards. Responsibilities- Provide biological expertise to support environmental review needs for utility projects
- Lead multi-disciplinary project/program teams and manage schedules, budgets, and documentation
- Oversee environmental permitting efforts and QC of biological reviews and reports
- Support siting, licensing, and environmental impact analysis for energy projects
- Develop and mentor staff; coach on business development and delivery of biological reports and permitting
- Develop proposals and scopes of work for environmental tasks, independently or with teams
- Coordinate with clients, agencies, and cross-functional teams; travel within Northern California as needed
Key requirements- Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental planning and permitting for California IOUs
- Experience with Habitat Conservation Plans, Natural Resource Management Strategies, Environmental Constraints Assessments
- CEQA/NEPA, CPUC experience a plus
- Strong planning, budgeting, and project management capabilities
- Ability to analyze information and make sound decisions in fast-paced environments
- Ability to travel up to 10-20% for site visits and meetings
