Overview As a Principal Applied Scientist at Prime Video, you will lead the invention and deployment of AI solutions that power personalized, engaging experiences for millions of users. You guide ML systems from research to production, mentor scientists, and influence product roadmaps in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. You will shape long-term strategy, stay ahead of research trends, and publish impactful work to advance the PVPD ecosystem. This role combines deep technical execution with strategic leadership to elevate content discovery at scale.

Responsibilities- Invent and productionize large-scale AI solutions for personalization and discovery using deep learning, generative AI, reinforcement learning, and optimization
- Provide technical leadership and influence product vision through collaboration with engineers, PMs, and senior stakeholders
- Design and lead high-impact A/B tests and data analyses to validate hypotheses and steer product direction
- Mentor scientists, drive design reviews, and raise technical bar across teams
- Stay ahead of industry trends and evolving research to shape long-term strategy and architecture
- Publish impactful research internally and externally (top-tier conferences and journals)
Key requirements- 8+ years designing, building, and deploying ML models for real-world business applications at scale
- PhD (or Master's with 10+ years of applied experience) in ML/CS/stats or related field
- Proven leadership in driving cross-functional ML/AI initiatives from ideation to production
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or C++, and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
