Senior Construction Project Manager-OAR II- (Anticipated Opening)

Overview

As an Owner's Authorized Representative II, you will oversee LAUSD construction and modernization projects from pre-construction to close-out. You will coordinate with public agencies, designers, engineers and contractors to deliver on time and within budget, while ensuring regulatory compliance. You'll provide strategic oversight on high value projects and monitor progress, budgets, and schedules. This role sits at the intersection of project management and client leadership, shaping major public sector facilities. You'll work in a collaborative environment with a focus on accountability and district standards, offering a meaningful impact on educational infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all phases of assigned construction projects from pre-construction to close-out
  • Review pre-construction documents and provide designer recommendations
  • Monitor project status and report to upper management
  • Ensure regulatory compliance for off-site work with public agencies
  • Oversee budgets and schedules to meet district standards
  • Supervise contractor activities and review submittals
  • Evaluate and approve contractor substitutions for compliance
  • Negotiate and review Change Orders for fair pricing
  • Oversee payments to contractors, architects, and engineers
  • Manage Professional Service Agreements between architects and LAUSD
  • Coordinate procurement and delivery of district fixtures, furniture, and equipment
  • Ensure successful project close-out and DSA certification
  • SOX control responsibilities where applicable
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • 15 years of full-time professional construction/project management experience
  • At least 5 years managing complex projects over $20 million
  • Experience with Design-Build projects (preferred)
  • BIM proficiency (preferred)
  • Knowledge of LEED/CHPS and DSA processes (preferred)
  • OSHA 30 minimum certification (preferred)
  • CCM credential or ability to obtain within one year (preferred)
  • Licensed Architect or Professional Engineer (California) or CCM credential (preferred)
