Overview

As Interior Design Project Manager you drive the delivery of high-quality workplace interiors. You lead cross-functional teams, manage schedules and budgets, and coordinate designers, consultants, and vendors to achieve cohesive, well-documented projects. You shape project strategy, mentor team members, and ensure client expectations are met with practical, design-led solutions. Responsibilities
  • Develop competitive fee structures for defined scope of services
  • Establish and manage project schedules
  • Oversee on-time and on-budget project delivery
  • Manage client expectations and communications
  • Provide leadership and mentorship within the studio team
  • Lead design and technical ideation discussions and solutions
  • Oversee material, furnishing, fixture, and equipment selections
  • Oversee construction documentation, submittals, RFIs, and addenda
  • Coordinate internal staff, external consultants, and stakeholders
  • Attend and conduct client and stakeholder presentations
  • Identify new business opportunities through networks
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in design solutions
  • Develop project directives, schedules, and strategies
  • Oversee phasing development and project communication
  • Ensure QA/QC of project documents
  • Apply industry standards and building codes
  • Demonstrate new methodologies, practices, codes, and products
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial design; workplace experience preferred
  • Professional registration
  • Strong design portfolio with conceptual, space planning, and detailing strengths
  • Experience coordinating design teams and managing consultants/contractors
  • Revit proficiency and technical excellence
  • Understanding of drawing sets and constructability
  • Ability to research and document codes for projects
  • Experience managing project fees and schedules
  • Strong client and team relationship management and business development experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and flexible attitude
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • In-office, full-time role with on-site attendance
