Responsibilities- Manage business operations for multiple scientific teams in Northern California
- Lead direct reports and their teams, serving clients in laboratories or manufacturing facilities
- Collaborate with clients to meet resourcing and technical needs while maintaining high-quality service
- Hold regular meetings with direct reports, the department, and client management
- Disseminate administrative communications and policies
- Own financial responsibilities as defined by the Director
- Plan and multitask to maximize productivity and drive efficiency
- Develop and meet quality and productivity metrics and promote teamwork
- Manage employee reviews, development, and performance processes
- Coach and develop group leaders and staff to strengthen succession and engagement
- Organize technical resources to achieve client goals within deadlines
- Ensure adherence to high quality and efficiency standards in laboratory operations
- Support Operational Excellence to maximize coverage and value
- Identify and manage risks to business continuity and resiliency
- Support Senior Leadership with governance and new business development as needed
- Stay current in science and technologies and advise clients accordingly
- Foster morale and teamwork
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Biotechnical Sciences, Engineering, or related field
- At least 5 years of experience leading direct reports
- Scientific background with hands-on laboratory experience in a pharmaceutical, clinical, or GMP setting
- Ability to travel locally within Northern California frequently; up to 5% additional travel
- Strong client service, client relationship management, teamwork, and collaboration
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and spoken communication and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with self-motivation and adaptability
