As Associate General Counsel, Product, you will partner with Product, Engineering, Clinical, Privacy, Compliance, and other teams to enable responsible innovation in digital health products. You'll advise on legal and regulatory issues across the product lifecycle, from early concepts to launch and scale, with a focus on HIPAA, healthcare privacy, and related governance. You will translate complex requirements into practical guidance while balancing patient care, member trust, and business objectives. • Serve as primary legal advisor for product, engineering, clinical, privacy, compliance, commercial, and executive teams.
• Advise throughout the product lifecycle: strategy, design, testing, launch, marketing, and post-launch changes.
• Provide practical guidance on healthcare regulation, HIPAA, data use, privacy, and emerging technologies.
• Identify, prioritize, and communicate material legal risks, options, and recommendations.
• Support medical-entity governance and friendly-PC structures, including intercompany arrangements.
• Develop scalable processes, playbooks, templates, training, and decision frameworks.
• Lead concurrent legal workstreams and adapt to changing priorities.
• Mentor and develop Legal team members and contribute to a collaborative function.
• Communicate complex legal concepts clearly in written and verbal form.
• Assist with international product launches and GDPR, cross-border data flows, and jurisdiction-specific healthcare regulations.
• Advise on government programs (Medicare, Medicaid, VA) and related billing, credentialing, and federal contracting obligations.
• Advise on clinical scope-of-practice requirements, provider supervision, and multi-state telehealth compliance.
• Collaborate effectively in a hybrid work environment (in-office 3 days/week).

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active U.S. state bar in good standing
• 8+ years of legal counseling experience, including in-house or embedded client counseling
• Experience counseling on healthcare products/services, digital health, or employer-sponsored health plans
• Product counseling across lifecycle (strategy to post-launch) with cross-functional collaboration
• Experience with healthcare privacy/HIPAA, data use/sharing, and privacy-by-design practices
• Experience with FDA regulations and regulatory submissions, labeling, or safety reports
• Experience with corporate practice of medicine, medical-entity governance, and friendly-PC structures
• Direct people-management experience and ability to lead and develop attorneys
