Overview As Product and Privacy Counsel, you will steer Brex through complex financial services regulations, scaling privacy programs and monitoring legal developments. You'll provide strategic guidance to protect and advance Brex's business objectives, partnering with engineering, product, and compliance teams. Your work will shape data security, privacy, and regulatory strategy across global products and markets. Responsibilities- Scale and enhance data privacy and security programs with engineering and business teams
- Develop and implement global privacy compliance processes (GDPR, CCPA) with monitoring frameworks
- Draft and negotiate data-related contracts safeguarding Brex's interests
- Provide product and regulatory guidance across scoping, design, and go-to-market
- Represent Brex with financial partners and regulators
- Collaborate with compliance, engineering, and business teams to identify compliant innovation opportunities
- Manage external counsel for regulatory, privacy, and data matters
Key requirements- 4+ years of experience in law firms, tech, and fintech with privacy and financial regulatory focus
- Deep knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and financial regulations
- Strong judgment, independence, and product-minded legal thinking
- Entrepreneurial mindset and cross-functional communication ability
- Ability to translate complex legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders
- Strong project management and time management skills
- J.D. from an accredited law school; Bar admission and active standing in at least one U.S. state
