Overview

As a Construction Project Manager in McKinstry's New Construction Mechanical team, you will translate design into safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery with strong client satisfaction. You'll guide project strategies, plans, and resource needs while coordinating with GCs, architects, engineers, and owners. You'll oversee financials, scheduling, risk, and change management to protect project value. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, construction, and business development to drive impactful, climate-conscious outcomes. You'll work in a collaborative, growth-oriented culture that values cross-functional leadership and problem solving.

Responsibilities
  • Define and manage project plans, schedules, and scopes across design to construction
  • Serve as primary contact for project engineering staff during construction and coordinate with stakeholders
  • Develop strategies, goals, and execution plans for each project phase
  • Oversee safety compliance, site safety actions, and risk mitigation
  • Control project finances, approve subcontractor billing, and manage change orders
  • Prepare and review subcontracts, purchase agreements, and technical submittals
  • Support business development in responding to proposals and bids
  • Coach and mentor project team members; establish staffing plans and governance
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials/equipment and monitor progress toward milestones
  • Deliver accurate project data for forecasts and reporting
Key requirements
  • Five (5) years in project management, engineering, or construction
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent
  • Proficiency with scheduling software: Microsoft Project, Primavera and/or Suretrak
  • Completed OSHA 30
  • Experience with General Contractors or major mechanical subcontractors preferred
  • PE, CPM, LEED designations preferred
  • Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); basic estimating skills
  • RCDD, CPM or construction financial software familiarity preferred
  • Understanding of accounting/financial management preferred
