Overview In this Scientist-II role, you contribute to the NADD team within ProteinSciences to advance oligonucleotide therapeutics discovery. You will work across neuroscience, immunology, and oncology to shape a comprehensive discovery strategy and support RNAi-related projects. You'll apply and troubleshoot oligonucleotide synthesis, purification, and analytical methods, collaborating with cross-functional scientists. The position offers impact through scaled synthesis, preclinical material coordination, and driving in vitro/in vivo study timelines. This is an opportunity to help build a growing oligonucleotide therapeutics program in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.
Responsibilities- Support oligonucleotide drug discovery lab across multiple therapeutic areas to shape discovery strategy
- Troubleshoot oligonucleotide synthesis and impurity profiling; ensure quality
- Collaborate to maintain oligo synthesizers, HPLC, desalting units and other essential lab equipment
- Plan and execute nucleic acid chemistry strategies; coordinate data across chemistry and biology for lead progression
- Develop scaled-up synthesis methods and coordinate material delivery for preclinical studies
- Maintain high lab productivity to meet timelines for in vitro and in vivo studies
Key requirements- Hands-on experience with automated oligonucleotide synthesis and novel nucleic acid chemistry
- BS/MS in Organic Chemistry or related field
- Experience with oligonucleotide purification and characterization (HPLC, MS)
- Industry R&D experience in RNAi therapeutics preferred
- Understanding of nucleic acid therapeutic modalities, modification chemistries, sequence selection, and MOA; experience in delivery or bio-conjugation desirable
