Overview In this Principal TPO Scientist role, you will shape the next generation of commercial roofing membranes at CCM. You'll lead the translation of early ideas into fully commercial products, collaborating with marketing and cross-functional teams to address unmet customer needs. Focused on long-term impact, you will define a multi-year technical roadmap and push breakthroughs in TPO formulation and membrane technology. You will mentor diverse technical talent, represent CCM at industry events, and drive both discovery and scale-up from lab to production. Responsibilities- Chart the future of TPO membrane science and lead patent development
- Own the full arc of product creation from concept to commercial launch
- Spearhead next-generation membrane technology across multiple membrane platforms and shape the technical roadmap
- Tighten the connection between laboratory discovery and manufacturing, optimizing extrusion, calendering, and scrim encapsulation processes
- Mentor scientists, engineers, and technicians, and share expertise through presentations and cross-functional collaboration
- Represent CCM at industry conferences and standards bodies to influence codes and specifications
Key requirements- 10+ years of progressive R&D experience in TPO polyolefin formulation chemistry, membrane science, or process engineering
- Deep hands-on expertise in polyolefin TPO systems, UV stabilizer design, heat-weld seam science, and related manufacturing processes
- Strong command of analytical techniques (FTIR, DSC, TGA, rheometry) and standards (ASTM D6878, FM 4470, UL 2218/790)
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related field
