Corporate Litigation Attorney - AAM

Overview

In this in-house role, you will serve as counsel of record for healthcare facilities, managing full case responsibility from intake to trial preparations. You will focus primarily on litigation needs, with some corporate/transactional work as needed. You will report to senior corporate counsel and executive management, with potential for remote work and occasional travel. You will join a team that supports the organization's defense and legal strategy while collaborating with cross functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Defend employment-related litigation ( wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, wage and hour) and manage related investigations and HR complaints
  • Handle business/commercial disputes with an emphasis on defense, reviewing invoices, statements, and contracts
  • Autonomously manage matters from client consultation to research and filing of complaints
  • Receive and respond to demand letters and compliant investigations, and prepare responsive pleadings
  • Draft and file legal documents, contracts, correspondence, and manage document filing and retrieval
  • Coordinate data collection and prepare papers for executives, committees, and Boards of Directors
  • Conduct interviews with employees and management; summarize depositions and testimony
  • Attend meetings and events as required; support special projects as directed
  • Read, analyze, and respond to memos, submissions, and reports; manage corporate records
  • Maintain basic word processing and spreadsheet skills relevant to case management
Key requirements
  • California State Bar license
  • 3-5 years of hands-on litigation experience
  • Admitted, or capable of admission, to all California Courts
  • Preferred: experience in trial, arbitration/mediation, labor commissioner, administrative law, healthcare/patient collections, malpractice, elder abuse, negligence
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to prioritize and stay motivated
  • Independent and autonomous work style

  • Drafting of contracts and pleadings
  • Case management and filing procedures
