Overview In this role you will lead HNTB's data science and enterprise analytics initiatives, shaping the strategy and technical roadmap to deliver scalable, ethical analytics across large infrastructure programs. You'll partner with business and technical leaders to align analytics with strategic goals, foster a culture of innovation, and scale teams through recruitment and development. You'll influence critical decisions with data-driven insights and drive responsible AI practices across projects.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage data science teams and enterprise analytics projects
- Define data science strategy, technical roadmap, and project priorities
- Oversee team performance, development planning, and succession management
- Ensure delivery of scalable, secure, and ethical data science solutions
- Collaborate with business and technical leaders to align analytics with strategic goals
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and team growth
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, computer engineering, or information systems with 7 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience, or 11 years of relevant experience in lieu of education
- Demonstrated success in leading data science teams and enterprise programs
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience with budgeting, resource planning, and team operations
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience with Python, R, or SQL
- Experience with Hadoop or Spark
- Experience with machine learning algorithms (e.g., k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests)
- Experience with MapReduce or Spark
- Experience with cloud-based AI services would be beneficial
