Overview In this role you will develop and expand a civil litigation practice within a national, collaborative litigation firm. You'll manage docketed matters across chosen practice areas and advance client objectives through multiple litigation stages. You'll collaborate with colleagues to shape case strategy and contribute to a culture focused on high-quality advocacy and professional development. This hybrid, multi-market position offers meaningful ownership of cases and exposure to sophisticated matters across industries.

Responsibilities- Manage a docket of civil litigation matters across chosen practice areas
- Advance matters through stages from early assessment to resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, briefs, and other substantive documents
- Conduct depositions, court appearances, hearings, and related tasks
- Partner with colleagues to develop case strategy and client objectives
- Represent clients professionally and responsively across contested matters
- Support litigation needs across insurance defense, commercial disputes, coverage issues, and general civil matters
- Maintain strong case management with organization and timely progress
- Contribute to a collaborative office and firmwide environment centered on quality advocacy and client service
Key requirements- 2 to 10+ years of litigation experience
- Ability to meet 1850 billable hours annually
- Experience in Labor & Employment litigation or related areas preferred
- Additional experience in insurance defense, business/commercial litigation, coverage, or general civil litigation valued
- Proven ability to draft litigation documents and perform legal analysis
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage cases with increasing independence and professional judgment
- Experience with depositions, hearings, and court appearances preferred
- Interest in building a broad civil litigation practice within a national firm platform
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment from listed office markets
