Overview In this role you will lead the Anatomy Lab and OR operations for the CCSI, enabling safe handling of human tissue while supporting innovative surgical research. You will ensure regulatory compliance, manage cadaveric materials, and oversee sessions run by internal and external partners. By shaping SOPs and workflows, you help maximize efficiency and throughput of the facility. You will work closely with CCSI leadership and cross-functional teams to support impactful surgical innovation.
Responsibilities- Oversee the full lifecycle of human tissue and cadaveric materials: procurement, scheduling, inventory, storage, and compliant disposal
- Ensure proper storage and maintenance of cadavers per standards; liaise with vendors for ethical/legal handling
- Provide day-to-day leadership for anatomy labs and OR space, including staffing and equipment
- Coordinate with CCSI leadership for resources and setup of anatomical sessions; consult with session directors on logistics
- Manage specimen services for cadaveric sessions; liaise with Safety, Security, and Environmental Health offices
- Evaluate lab operations for efficiency and appropriate resource use; ensure safety and quality compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs, process docs, and facility handbooks for CCSI users
- Develop workflows to improve program efficiency and service delivery
- Supervise the Laboratory Technician; handle performance management and professional development
- Cross-train and support team members; participate in committees as appropriate
- Track programmatic financial progress and assist in financial reporting
- Perform other duties as part of a collaborative team
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology or related field
- Five years laboratory experience with at least two years in a supervisory role
- Comfort with handling cadavers and cadaveric materials (preferred)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proven problem-solving, multi-tasking, and big-picture thinking
- Ability to make sound decisions in complex or emergent situations
