Overview

In this role you guide litigations and procedural strategy as a senior MAO leader. You will supervise daily MAO operations across offices, ensuring accurate filings, calendaring, and compliance with court rules. You'll translate complex procedural requirements into practical guidance for attorneys and clients, while advancing the MAO's knowledge and analytics capabilities. This position offers impact through cross-office leadership, process improvement, and evolving legal technology adoption.

Responsibilities
  • Advise on procedural and strategic issues across litigation, arbitration, appellate, and regulatory matters
  • Research and interpret federal, state, local, and electronic filing rules and court practices
  • Lead MAO operations including filings, docketing, calendaring, and service of process
  • Review filings for accuracy and compliance with rules
  • Develop and deliver CLEs, training, and educational resources
  • Coordinate staffing and workloads across offices and time zones
  • Set departmental priorities and guide long-term direction with senior staff
  • Develop MAO knowledge-management and experience-management resources
Key requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state court systems and procedures; familiarity with multiple jurisdictions (NY, CA, CO, MA, DC) preferred
  • Ability to conduct sophisticated legal and procedural research and provide clear guidance
  • Proficiency with electronic filing systems and court websites (e.g., PACER, Bloomberg Law, Lex Machina)
  • Experience with docketing, calendaring, and automated calendaring systems
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation abilities
  • Open to technological change and AI-enabled tools; able to adapt workflows
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, holidays as needed
  • JD with active bar status in a relevant U.S. jurisdiction
