Overview

In this role you will lead day-to-day contract administration for a multi-entity heavy civil contractor, partnering with Corporate Counsel and project teams. You will manage prime contracts, subcontracts, and related agreements through award and closeout, while mitigating risk and ensuring regulatory compliance. You'll shape contract templates and advise on interpretation, changes, and claims to support high-profile public infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role with a clear impact on project execution and company success.

Responsibilities
  • Lead administration of prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, leases, and professional services agreements from award to project closeout
  • Review, draft, and negotiate terms with proper flow-downs for obligations, insurance, bonding, prevailing wage, and public agency compliance
  • Advise project managers on contract interpretation, notices, change orders, REAs, claims documentation, and contractual risk
  • Manage contract records, correspondence, modifications, and supporting documentation to protect contractual rights and impeach claims
  • Coordinate lien rights, bond claims, certificates of insurance, and subcontract compliance; support federal contracting requirements (FAR/DFARS, Davis-Bacon, Buy America, DBE/MBE/WBE)
  • Partner with Corporate Counsel and outside counsel to support dispute resolution and continuously improve contract templates, policies, and best practices
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree; paralegal certification or J.D. is a plus
  • Minimum 5 years drafting, negotiating, redlining, and administering construction contracts
  • Experience supporting public infrastructure or heavy civil projects with knowledge of change orders, REAs, delay claims
  • Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS, Corps of Engineers, DOT, Davis-Bacon, certified payroll, and DBE/MBE compliance
  • Proven ability to negotiate commercial terms balancing legal, financial, and operational risk
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, Viewpoint, CMiC, or similar
  • Professional certifications such as CCCA or CCP are a plus
