Director, Behavioral Scientist

Overview

In this role you will lead behavioral science applications to improve claim strategies and experiences. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to pilot interventions, analyze data, and translate insights into actionable product and process changes. Your work informs decision-making, supports transformational change, and helps shape customer and employee experiences within claims. This position offers a strategic opportunity to apply research to real-world business impact and scale behavioral interventions across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Design and pilot behavioral interventions across the claim lifecycle
  • Collect and analyze quantitative data and conduct interviews to test hypotheses
  • Facilitate design thinking sessions with cross-functional teams
  • Collaborate with product designers, data scientists, project managers, marketing and communications
  • Document research and recommendations to improve Claim business outcomes
  • Lead implementation of interventions with sponsor alignment
  • Translate insights to support organizational change and capabilities in behavioral science
Key requirements
  • 5+ years of applied industry experience
  • Ph.D. with certification and/or applied experience in Data Science
  • Proficiency with Excel, and R, SAS, or Python
  • Experience in NLP and/or text analysis methods
  • Experience with semi-structured interviews or user research for Behavioral Science
  • Group-led facilitation using design thinking software across multidisciplinary groups
  • Strong project management and ability to handle multiple projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration across business areas
  • Insurance or financial services industry experience
  • Must haveMaster's in related field (as stated)
