Overview As a Law & Motion Attorney in our litigation team, you will draft, file, and argue dispositive and procedural motions in civil matters with a focus on personal injury. You will align motion strategy with trial teams, manage deadlines, and navigate local rules to advance client interests. This role blends sophisticated legal research and writing with courtroom advocacy and case management, contributing to efficient pretrial litigation. You will collaborate cross-functionally to shape strategy and mentor junior staff, within a firm known for empathy, knowledge, and successful outcomes.

Responsibilities- Research and draft complex civil motions, briefs, and supporting memoranda
- Prepare and file pleadings, declarations, exhibits, and required court forms under local rules and e-filing procedures
- Appear and argue motions and hearings in state and federal court with effective oral advocacy
- Collaborate with trial attorneys and paralegals to develop motion strategy and coordinate discovery
- Manage motion calendar and deadlines, track time limits, and maintain organized case files
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and expert witnesses regarding motion status and strategy
- Draft and review settlement-related pleadings and align motion strategy with case resolution goals
- Supervise and mentor junior attorneys, associates, and paralegals on motion drafting and courtroom procedures
- Monitor procedural rules and relevant case law to keep motion practice up to date
Key requirements- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in the hiring jurisdiction
- 3+ years of civil litigation experience with emphasis on law and motion; personal injury experience preferred
- Proven track record of drafting persuasive motions and briefs and effective oral arguments
- Excellent legal research and writing skills; proficiency with Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of civil procedure, evidence rules, local rules, and e-filing systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and high-volume motion docket with accuracy
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and teamwork
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff is a plus
- Willingness to travel to court appearances and maintain a valid driver's license
