Overview In this role you will lead reviews of MTA capital construction contracts and processes to detect fraud and mismanagement. You will assess risk and safety concerns, delivering actionable recommendations to improve programs. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to plan, conduct, and report investigations into capital construction and maintenance efforts. You will interview agency personnel, vendors, and contractors, and testify when required to support oversight and accountability.
Responsibilities- Review capital construction contracts, processes, procurement, billings to identify fraud and abuse
- Identify risk, mismanagement, and safety concerns and provide impactful recommendations
- Collaborate on planning, conducting, and reporting investigations and reviews of capital construction and maintenance programs
- Conduct interviews with agency personnel, vendors, contractors, and related parties
- Analyze contracts, billings, inspection records, payroll, and other records for audit objectives
- Draft memoranda and reports of interviews and investigative efforts
- Prepare reports with recommendations and conclusions; testify in hearings or court proceedings as needed
- Maintain knowledge of evolving MTA operations and build professional relationships
Key requirements- Bachelor in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, Public Administration, or Accounting and seven years of experience OR a trade license with ten years of experience
- Supervisory and/or project management experience
