Overview In this role you will lead IP licensing and transactional work, handling complex agreements and EOU investigations for a diverse patent portfolio. You will coordinate technical analysis with engineers to translate insights into persuasive legal positions and support enforcement and litigation strategies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to align licensing terms with business objectives and monetization plans. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of law, technology, and business strategy.

Responsibilities- Draft, review, and negotiate patent, technology, and software licensing agreements and related documents
- Lead IP due diligence for acquisitions, investments, partnerships, and JVs; identify and mitigate IP risks
- Manage and conduct EOU investigations, including preparing EOU claim charts and infringement analyses
- Coordinate reverse engineering and testing engagements with engineers and external experts
- Support IP litigation and enforcement with infringement analyses and discovery support
- Advise business teams on freedom-to-operate, monetization strategies, and risk allocation in contracts
- Manage outside counsel, experts, and consultants; oversee budgets and strategic outcomes
- Prepare clear legal opinions and memoranda based on technical and legal analysis
- Collaborate with R&D, product, and business teams to translate technical details into licensing terms
- Maintain matter management records and client communications for timely delivery of services
Key requirements- Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- Barred in CA
- 1+ years of IP law experience focusing on patent licensing, IP transactions, or related litigation
- Experience conducting EOU investigations and preparing EOU claim charts
- Hands-on familiarity with reverse engineering processes or coordinating such analyses
- Proven track record negotiating and drafting patent and technology license agreements
- Experience supporting patent litigation or enforcement matters with infringement analysis
- Technical background in engineering, computer science, or related field preferred
- Excellent legal writing and communication
