Overview As Senior Construction Manager, you will lead high-value capital projects such as major renovations, expansions, and ground-up design-build or build-to-suit initiatives. You'll act as Owner's representative, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and strong stakeholder communication. The role combines strategic planning, risk management, and senior-level collaboration across regions with a focus on complex capital work. Responsibilities- Lead complex or high-value capital projects (renovations, expansions, ground-up design-build, build-to-suit)
- Oversee multiple concurrent projects and maintain schedules and milestones
- Define project scopes with stakeholders and translate into detailed estimates and budgets
- Identify risks and opportunities for value engineering
- Develop and monitor project schedules; proactively address delays
- Prepare bid packages, perform cost analyses, and present contractor recommendations
- Manage project budgets, contracts, negotiations, and risk management
- Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors; mentor junior staff
- Drive cross-functional collaboration for successful project delivery
- Oversee project closeout and ensure compliance with regulations
Key requirements- B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10-15 years' experience in commercial construction managing projects
- Advanced knowledge of building systems, codes, and construction processes
- Proven track record delivering complex projects including ground-up build-to-suit and design-build
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Experience with large-scale or multi-site projects and due diligence for real estate decisions
- Subject matter expert in due diligence, permitting strategy, and code interpretation across multiple jurisdictions
- Proficiency with construction PM software; familiarity with Procore or similar systems
- Industry certifications and willingness to travel 60-70% with potential overnight stays
- Safety-sensitive role with PPE use and extended hours during critical phases
