Project Architect - Healthcare

Overview

In this role you lead multidisciplinary architectural teams on healthcare-focused projects, guiding design through multiple phases and ensuring code compliance. You collaborate with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders to deliver coordinated documents and high-quality specifications. You shape projects from concept through construction, contributing to HDR's collaborative, employee-owned culture. This is an opportunity to influence healthcare and educational facilities with sustainable design and robust technical leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team across project phases
  • Schedule and conduct owner/client meetings and reviews with agencies for code compliance
  • Manage site work sessions with Project Manager and other disciplines
  • Oversee workload distribution to meet document deadlines
  • Review documents for cross-discipline conflicts; perform QA/QC and technical reviews
  • Write and edit architectural specifications
  • Coordinate addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders with affected disciplines
  • Incorporate approved changes into project documents
  • Lead projects in a dual management role when required
  • Provide construction contract administration as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Registered Architect
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule)
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit; familiarity with related tools/processes
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
  • Experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills
