Overview In this role you will support the Commissioning & Building Performance team by testing and validating HVAC and mechanical systems across projects. You'll work with engineers, managers, contractors, and owners to confirm systems meet OPRequirements and BOD through data analysis and documentation. You'll troubleshoot performance issues and maintain orderly records and reports. This position offers hands-on impact across diverse building types within a collaborative, design-forward firm.

Responsibilities- Assist in commissioning and validation of HVAC and mechanical building systems across various project types
- Support planning and execution of functional performance testing
- Review test data (airflow, temperature, pressure, system responses) to verify performance
- Troubleshoot performance issues and coordinate corrective actions with the project team
- Track and document commissioning deficiencies and resolutions
- Maintain commissioning records, logs, and test documentation
- Prepare commissioning reports with test results and observations
- Collaborate with designers, contractors, and owners throughout project delivery
Key requirements- Working knowledge of HVAC systems and building mechanical equipment
- Familiarity with commissioning processes, functional performance testing, and building performance verification
- Ability to interpret technical data, drawings, specifications, and system documentation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to document findings clearly
- Effective communication skills and team collaboration
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
- Proficiency with standard office and reporting software; commissioning software experience is an asset
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Systems, or related discipline; 3+ years of related experience
