Overview In this role you lead core laboratory testing efforts to deliver accurate results that inform physician decisions. You collaborate with the Technical Specialist to implement procedures, coordinate proficiency testing, and drive efficient, compliant operations. You guide daily planning, schedules, and compliance while supporting a team in a fast-paced lab environment. This role combines hands-on laboratory leadership with process improvement to sustain high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities- Perform the full range of Medical Lab Scientist duties
- Assist Technical Specialist with implementing new procedures and policies
- Coordinate the proficiency testing program to ensure timely testing, analysis, and review
- Recommend system changes to improve workflow efficiency and accuracy
- Manage department schedules and update as needed
- Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position
- Other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry through a CLIA-approved program (required)
- MLS Certification or eligible by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP) (required)
- 2 years of clinical lab experience required
- 5 years of clinical lab experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
