Overview

In this role, you plan, coordinate, and support the restoration, maintenance, and deployment of outside plant fiber infrastructure, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely delivery. You will work cross-functionally with Field Operations, Engineering, and contractors to execute projects from start to finish. You'll monitor progress, enforce safety and design standards, and provide field feedback to improve constructability. The position combines hands-on site oversight with project coordination in a fast-paced environment, contributing to a scalable, open-access fiber platform.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with Field Operations and contractors for planning, execution, and restoration
  • Manage multiple projects from initiation to invoicing/completion
  • Ensure activities align with timelines, scope, and standards
  • Conduct site visits to verify progress and quality
  • Ensure compliance with engineering designs, specs, and safety standards
  • Inspect OSP work prints and construction activities for accuracy
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure field implementation matches designs
  • Review engineering prints, standards, and installation procedures
  • Provide field feedback to improve design and constructability
  • Approve contractor invoices for accuracy and completeness
  • Support contract compliance and vendor performance oversight
  • Track project costs and identify discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate project records in systems
  • Provide updates on status, risks, and issues
  • Document deficiencies and corrective actions
  • Act as liaison between Engineering, Operations, contractors, and project managers
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues and escalations
  • Provide regular feedback to internal teams and external partners
  • Ensure compliance with USDA RUS standards and ForgedFiber37 requirements
  • Maintain knowledge of engineering standards, safety regulations, and construction procedures
  • Monitor site housekeeping and overall project compliance
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of experience in OSP/ISP construction, engineering support, or project coordination
  • Fiber network deployments experience (FTTx, GPON) preferred
  • Proven experience managing construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of underground, buried, and aerial fiber construction and related infrastructure
  • Familiarity with central office configurations, switching, and routing (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of construction codes, regulations, and compliance standards
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
  • Willingness to travel 30-40%
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
