Responsibilities- Lead data center power transactions, drafting and negotiating power purchase agreements and related arrangements for developers, utilities, and corporate buyers
- Provide strategic advice on electric market design issues within PJM, MISO, SPP, ERCOT and CAISO, including capacity markets and interconnection policies
- Represent clients in FERC proceedings and advise on compliance with market-based rate programs and related topics
- Counsel clients on emerging energy policy, renewable integration, and carbon-free procurement strategies
- Participate in practice development and client relationship management, contributing to thought leadership
- Provide mentorship and oversight to associates within the EER practice group
Key requirements- 6+ years of experience in energy law
- Ability to manage complex transactions and regulatory filings from start to finish with minimal supervision
- Deep knowledge of the Federal Power Act, wholesale power markets, and power transaction structures
- Collaborative self-starter with JD from an accredited law school
