Overview

As Amazon's Construction Manager for GES NA D&C, you lead on-site delivery of Amazon facilities, coordinating with external partners and internal teams to ensure safe, on-time, and within-budget project execution. You act as the owner's rep across the full lifecycle of new builds, retrofits, and expansions for sortation centers and delivery stations. You drive budget, schedule, and quality with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and effective stakeholder collaboration. This role offers regional travel and requires independent regional leadership to deliver complex projects at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Champion safety programs and ensure a safety-first culture across project teams
  • Interface with AHJ and manage regulatory permitting and approvals
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects from design through handover, including large-scale builds (>$100M) and renovations
  • Serve as Amazon's owner's representative and integrator between construction execution teams and internal stakeholders
  • Review drawings, specifications, and bid packages for conformance to standards; resolve design coordination issues
  • Assess project performance via KPIs for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability
  • Own budget tracking, cashflow forecasting, and cost management across projects
  • Negotiate contracts with developers and general contractors and ensure fit-for-purpose agreements
  • Audit contractor performance and guide project teams to meet duration and quality targets
  • Maintain clear, concise communication with stakeholders; participate in AOC meetings and report on risks and corrective actions
  • Provide design feedback and drive value engineering and sustainability aligned with Amazon practices
  • Identify process improvements to enhance safety, cost, schedule, and quality
Key requirements
  • Bachelor in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of project management from design to handover
  • 5+ years of experience negotiating construction, procurement, or labor contracts
  • 5+ years of proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) and scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, or similar)
  • Willingness to travel up to 60% (Nationwide); valid driver's license
