Overview As a Project Manager and Senior Biologist/Ecologist, you drive environmental review and permitting for utility projects within a multidisciplinary team. You lead study execution, ensure quality reviews, and guide CEQA/NEPA and regulatory compliance. You'll mentor staff, shape proposals, and coordinate with clients and agencies. Responsibilities- Provide biological expertise to support environmental reviews for utility projects
- Lead multi-disciplinary project teams and manage schedules, budgets, and project records
- Oversee environmental permitting efforts and QC on biological analyses and reports
- Support siting, licensing studies, environmental impact analysis, and CEQA/NEPA
- Develop efficient workflows and communication plans for projects
- Lead planning and permitting for electrical transmission siting and licensing
- Prepare and review technical documents (due diligence studies, regulatory compliance)
- Mentor and train staff on business development, permitting, and project delivery
- Develop proposals (scope and budgets) for environmental services tasks
- Coordinate with clients and agencies; travel up to 10-20%
Key requirements- Minimum 5 years of environmental planning and permitting for California IOUs
- Familiarity with utility environmental review and local municipal planning in Northern California
- Experience with Habitat Conservation Plans, Natural Resource Management Strategies, Environmental Constraints Assessments
- Ability to analyze information, manage risks and deliver high-quality results
- Strong client service orientation and cross-disciplinary collaboration
- Ability to prioritize workloads in a fast-paced, mobile environment
- CEQA/NEPA experience; CPUC experience a plus
- Bachelor of Science in Biology or Ecology; 7-10 years of relevant experience; Master's preferred
