Overview

In this MSL role, you act as the primary scientific resource for obesity-focused clinicians and decision-makers, guiding them with balanced clinical data and insights. You will support Amgen's obesity strategy, engage with investigators and health-system stakeholders, and contribute to research and congress activities. This field-based position partners with cross-functional teams to extend patient access and improve outcomes. You'll work in a collaborative, science-driven culture that values stakeholder trust and data-led decision making.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the scientific resource to Opinion Leaders, PHDMs, and healthcare providers to advance Amgen's obesity program
  • Engage clinical investigators and sites to support the obesity pipeline
  • Communicate clinical value, outcomes, and economic data to PHDMs and institutions
  • Connect external and internal stakeholders to amplify reach and patient access
  • Conduct in-depth scientific exchanges with balanced information compliant with standards
  • Support Amgen-sponsored research and possibly lead studies
  • Liaise with investigators for non-sponsored clinical research
  • Present field observations to internal stakeholders to inform strategy
  • Lead or participate in congress activities aligned with strategy
  • Assist with speaker training and data updates
  • Participate in or lead project teams supporting MSL strategies
  • Collaborate across Amgen field teams to ensure a cohesive One Amgen experience
  • Complete administrative tasks (Veeva CRM, expenses, compliance) timely
  • Maintain and enhance clinical/scientific acumen with current data and trends
  • Build and maintain strong external relationships and communicate scientific data effectively
Key requirements
  • Doctorate degree or
  • Master's degree with 3 years of Medical Affairs experience or
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of Medical Affairs experience
  • Preferred: Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O.
  • 1+ years Medical Affairs experience (preferred)
  • 4+ years in a medically related field including clinical practice or research
  • Current experience in Scientific/Medical Affairs at a biotech/pharma company
  • Cardiometabolic/Obesity expertise
