Overview In this role, you will direct multidisciplinary project delivery for large and complex projects within HDR's Building Engineering Services Group. You'll lead cross-functional teams, manage client relationships, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while promoting an inclusive, employee-owned culture. You'll shape project strategy, QA/QC, and staffing, contributing to HDR's mission of engineering progress and sustainable, human-centered environments. This position combines leadership, technical oversight, and client-facing collaboration to drive meaningful impact in the built environment.
Responsibilities- Direct and coordinate multi-discipline project teams across the full lifecycle
- Manage large or technically complex projects with significant staff
- Oversee concurrent projects and ensure deliverables meet schedule
- Maintain client relations and participate in marketing, proposals, and interviews
- Lead deliverable development sessions with staff and stakeholders
- Plan staffing and workload to meet project deadlines and budgets
- Monitor financials and coordinate with leadership for project reviews
- Implement QA/QC procedures and mentor project managers
- Support section operations, staff development, profitability, morale, and marketing
- Coordinate with other sections and lead cross-functional services
- Contribute to proactive project management and policy implementation
- Assist in selecting and developing PM and admin personnel
- Collaborate with National Directors and marketing teams on initiatives
- Engage in marketing planning, proposals, and interviews
- Perform other duties as needed
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
- 10 years related experience
- Minimum 5 years project management experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software
- Ability to interact with design teams and possess strong organizational, PM, and communication skills
- Active participation in employee-owned culture is a must
