Overview In this role you will oversee transportation-focused projects across the Southern California region, guiding project delivery and expanding GFT's regional presence. You'll lead a growing construction management group, mentor teams, and ensure projects meet schedules, budgets, and safety/quality standards. You'll drive operational initiatives to hit sales targets and cultivate client relationships around project execution. Responsibilities- Recruit and build a strong construction management team
- Develop and mentor staff to foster collaboration and clear communication
- Participate in bid reviews and negotiate project contracts
- Provide leadership to project managers and support staff to meet schedule and budget
- Optimize regional resource utilization
- Review status reports to ensure performance goals are met
- Assemble project teams using internal and external resources
- Oversee cost controls, budgets, invoicing, estimates, and forecasts with focus on profit and cash flow
- Lead resolution of contractual, legal, and compliance issues with owners, JV partners or suppliers
- Champion new policies/procedures to improve efficiency and manage change
- Identify and capture new transportation contract and project opportunities
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management or related field
- PE license in California (Professional registration)
- 15+ years of project management experience in the AEC industry
- Ability to build and lead a construction management group
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budget
