Overview In this role you will advance small-molecule purification and high-throughput analytics to support AI-driven drug discovery. You'll lead SFC/LC purification method development and QC workflows, partnering with HTE and medicinal chemistry to deliver well-characterized compounds. You will optimize purification strategies, troubleshoot instruments, and help scale high-throughput processes. This position anchors the purification capability at our San Diego HQ and contributes to speed and quality in the discovery cycle.

Responsibilities- Develop and execute purification strategies using preparative SFC and LC, with emphasis on SFC method development
- Solve challenging separations via optimization of stationary/mobile phases, gradients, scale-up, and fraction collection
- Develop and support high-throughput compound QC workflows using LC/MS and related analytics
- Collaborate with medicinal chemistry and HTE teams to deliver fit-for-purpose purification and QC
- Serve as technical resource for SFC/LC purification, QC, and instrument troubleshooting
- Provide hands-on support for SFC, LC, and LC/MS platforms including maintenance and vendor coordination
- Develop and improve automated/high-throughput purification and QC workflows integrating handling, purification, analytics, and data management
- Evaluate and implement new chromatography, analytical, automation, and informatics technologies to expand throughput and efficiency
Key requirements- Ph.D. in related field with 0-5 years experience or MS with 7+ years or BS with 9+ years
- Strong hands-on experience in small-molecule chromatographic purification and method development
- Expertise in preparative SFC including method development, optimization, and troubleshooting; preparative LC preferred
- Solid understanding of chromatographic separation science and problem-solving in purification
- Strong instrument troubleshooting skills for chromatography, fluidics, hardware, and software
- Strong understanding of medicinal chemistry and drug discovery with ability to translate needs into purification/QC strategies
