Consultant, Product Architect

Overview

In this Product Architect role, you will own the technical quality and evolution of an application portfolio within Nationwide's Enterprise Solutions. You'll shape cloud-first strategies, reference architectures, and roadmaps across data, analytics, and platforms. Working in a cross-functional team, you'll translate business needs into secure, scalable architecture and guide initiatives from concept to adoption. This position offers impact at scale within a collaborative, agile culture and opportunities to influence enterprise data and analytics directions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain system architectures for product domains ensuring functional and non-functional requirements are met
  • Lead strategies, blueprints, and roadmaps aligned with enterprise goals and guardrails
  • Apply secure software and systems engineering practices throughout delivery
  • Identify technology risk and debt, plan upgrades and maintenance for product platforms
  • Design build patterns, standards, and compliance with architecture standards
  • Drive technical quality via architecture/design/code reviews, capacity planning, modeling, and testing
  • Mentor and develop technical talent and support teams adopting new technologies
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Key requirements
  • Eight or more years of technology experience
  • Demonstrated expertise across multiple architectural domains and technologies
  • Cloud experience preferred (AWS, Azure)
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills; executive-level influence
  • Ability to translate strategy into actionable architecture decisions and roadmaps
  • Experience with cross-functional collaboration and delivering in Agile environments
  • Knowledge of data governance, security best practices, and AI tools for enterprise analytics
  • Ability to mentor teams and drive adoption of new technologies
