Overview In this role you serve as on-site field oversight for active data center construction, spending the majority of time on site to assess progress against schedule, quality, safety, and operations. You provide leadership with a clear view of construction health across the portfolio and help resolve cross-functional issues. Your work supports Switch's mission to build the world's most advanced digital infrastructure by driving risk-aware, quality construction outcomes. Responsibilities- Conduct regular site walks, audits, and performance reviews to identify risks and execution gaps
- Assess GC and vendor performance against schedule, quality, productivity, and staffing commitments
- Validate reported project status against field conditions and milestones
- Identify recurring construction risks across projects and campuses and escalate to leadership
- Coordinate with Construction Managers, GCs, vendors, Engineering, and Operations to resolve cross-functional issues
- Establish standardized field observation, risk reporting, and escalation practices across projects
- Provide clear, actionable reporting on construction health, risks, and trends to senior leaders
- Capture and disseminate lessons learned to improve future projects
- Hold contractors and internal teams accountable for commitments while maintaining safety and quality
Key requirements- 10+ years of relevant construction experience
- Deep knowledge of field construction practices, contractor performance, scheduling, quality, and risk
- Experience evaluating complex projects through field observation and performance data
- Ability to identify risks early and work with teams to resolve barriers to execution
- Credibility working with Construction Managers, GCs, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and operations teams
- Experience with mission-critical facilities or data center construction is preferred
