Overview As Lead OMS Architect, you will own the end-to-end technical design of OMS solutions for complex omnichannel requirements, driving architecture alignment and high-level to low-level design artifacts. You'll guide implementation, integration, testing, and production rollout, while ensuring scalable, secure, and high-availability OMS solutions. You work with cross-functional teams and vendors to align with roadmaps and business goals, shaping how OMS supports a seamless customer experience.
Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end OMS architecture and design across modules
- Drive solution assessments, architecture alignment, and fit-gap analysis
- Own design artifacts and lead technical design reviews
- Provide technical leadership during implementation, customization, integration, testing, UAT, and rollout
- Guide development teams on OMS best practices, coding standards, and performance optimization
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business and operational goals
- Support upgrades, roadmap planning, and production support including issue triage
- Coordinate with product vendors for defect resolution and enhancement planning aligned to releases
Key requirements- Extensive hands-on experience with IBM Order Management System (OMS) across modules
- Proven OMS architecture, solution design, and end-to-end implementation in large-scale retail/omnichannel environments
- Strong experience in order lifecycle management (sales orders, POs, transfers, payments, invoicing, taxes, returns)
- Deep knowledge of OMS integrations with ERP, WMS, CRM, e-commerce platforms, tax engines, and logistics partners using REST/SOAP
- Strong proficiency in Java, XML, XSLT, Angular, and microservices-based architectures
- Experience with both B2B and B2C OMS implementations
- Understanding of Next-Gen OMS/OMoC architecture and containerized/cloud deployments
- Expertise in performance tuning, scalability, security, and high-availability OMS solutions
