Overview In this role you will plan, design, and execute civil engineering work for industrial facilities in energy, chemical, and manufacturing sectors. You will develop deliverables for site development, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadways while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective outcomes. You'll support project managers through all phases, ensuring compliance with codes, client specs, and company quality standards. Responsibilities- Prepare engineering design packages (conceptual to detailed) including calculations and construction documents
- Conduct civil design calculations for grading, drainage, stormwater, earthwork, utility sizing, and roadway design
- Develop and review site layouts, grading, utility plans, profiles, paving, and erosion/sediment control plans
- Coordinate with survey teams to integrate survey data and verify site control
- Model earthwork and perform cut/fill analyses to optimize layouts and costs
- Review drawings for accuracy and constructability, ensure project compliance
- Coordinate with structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and process disciplines
- Support technical specs, material takeoffs, and construction scope documents
- Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and field changes during construction
- Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, HAZOPs, and quality reviews
- Assist with field investigations and site visits, provide construction support
- Identify technical risks, evaluate alternatives, and propose practical engineering solutions
- Ensure deliverables adhere to procedures, client requirements, codes, and standards
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and standard details
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- 3-10 years of civil engineering experience in industrial/energy/chemical/oil & gas sectors
- Experience in site development, grading, drainage, underground utilities, and roadway design
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D (surface modeling, grading, alignments, profiles, utility design)
- Experience with SSA hydrologic and hydraulic analysis software a plus
- Familiarity with Navisworks and multidisciplinary model coordination a plus
- Working knowledge of civil engineering codes, standards, and permitting
- Experience preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction packages
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and manage multiple assignments to meet schedules
