Overview In this role you assess bid specs and drawings to prepare competitive estimates for heavy civil projects. You will engage in pre-bid meetings, gather quotes from materials and subs, and collaborate with project teams to ensure bids are complete and compelling. You'll work independently to produce precise, timely estimates while supporting project management on bids and budgets to secure work. This position offers growth within a family-owned, diversified infrastructure contractor.

Responsibilities- Evaluate bid specifications and drawings for accurate estimates
- Attend pre-bid meetings and solicit material and subcontractor quotes
- Ensure all bid requirements are completed to win the project
- Collaborate with Project Management to follow up on bids and budgets
- Operate with forward-thinking, performance-driven, quality-focused mindset
- Work independently to deliver high-accuracy work within deadlines
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in construction management, or equivalent degree from a 4-year college or university
- 3+ years of related heavy civil construction estimating experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of estimating and scheduling software (HCSS, B2W)
- Negotiation experience
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Position requires around 25% travel for jobsite visits, pre-bid meetings, and pre-construction meetings
