Overview

In this role you contribute to UCSF's expanding nuclear medicine and theranostics programs by leading instrumentation QA, dosimetry, and protocol development. You will collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and researchers to support clinical trials, translational research, and educational missions. The position offers opportunities to shape imaging and therapy practices across the enterprise and to advance precision imaging and therapy.

Responsibilities
  • Annual qualification and acceptance testing of SPECT/CT and PET/CT systems
  • Oversee nuclear medicine QA programs
  • Dose calibrator calibration
  • Develop and optimize imaging and therapy protocols
  • Collaborate with health technologists to address QA issues and maintain clinical excellence
  • Support scanner qualification for clinical trials and cross-disciplinary research
  • Participate in radiation safety and governance committees
  • Contribute to teaching of residents, fellows, medical students, and graduate students
Key requirements
  • PhD in a relevant field
  • Must be eligible for, or have completed, certification in Nuclear Medicine Physics by the American Board of Radiology or equivalent
  • Current and/or pending qualifications listed in materials
  • Appointment at rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor)
  • Experience with SPECT/CT and PET/CT instrumentation and QA (inferred)
