Overview In this role you design and build systems to proactively identify and enforce against abuse on OpenAI's products, supporting safety policies and scalable mitigations. You collaborate with product, policy, and engineering teams to understand risks and deploy data-backed monitoring and defenses. You will work across new product launches and existing offerings, including responding to escalations and building production-ready detection and enforcement capabilities. This role offers cross-functional impact in safeguarding users while enabling innovative product use.

Responsibilities- Scope and implement abuse monitoring requirements for new product launches
- Improve monitoring operations for existing products with automated subtasks
- Prototype and mature production systems for detection, review, and enforcement of major harms
- Collaborate with Product, Policy, Ops, Investigative and Engineering teams to ensure data availability and scalable tooling
Key requirements- At least 4 years of experience in technical analysis and detection, especially with SQL and Python
- Experience in trust and safety and/or collaboration with policy, enforcement, and engineering teams
- Experience with basic data engineering (core tables, production pipelines) and with machine learning principles
- Basic software development skills; productionised code experience is a plus
- Experience scaling and automating processes, especially with language models
