Overview As a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in the VR Training team, you will design and deliver job-skills training for VR staff and service providers. You collaborate with subject-matter experts to create formal curricula and coordinate training events, including train-the-trainer workshops. You will mentor colleagues and promote a culture of continuous learning across the Texas Workforce System. This role supports statewide workforce development with a strong public service mission and requires travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities- Coordinate, prepare, and present VR classes, workshops, meetings, and conferences for VR staff and providers
- Lead the research, design, and development of formal VR curricula using department guidelines and project-management methods
- Collaborate with Texas Workforce Solutions management and SMEs to assess training needs and develop solutions
- Follow directives, seek guidance, and communicate progress to ensure accountability
- Prepare documents and training materials with professional formatting
- Mentor training staff and promote continuous learning across the system
- Perform other duties to meet department goals
Key requirements- Three years of experience in training methods, education, and group presentations
- Relevant academic credits may count toward experience
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to deliver training to adults (in-person or virtual)
- Collaboration and teamwork
- Delivery of adult training via in-person classrooms or virtual platforms (Teams/Zoom)
- Experience with case management tools and processes
- Ability to address accessibility needs for diverse learners
