Hazardous Materials Project Manager

Overview

In this role you drive environmental projects within the EGE practice, applying technical expertise to assess sites, manage field teams, and deliver compliant solutions. You will collaborate across offices in Reading, Worcester or Foxborough to support growth and project delivery. You'll tackle site assessments, hazardous materials work, and remediation strategies, shaping outcomes for clients and the environment. This role offers leadership opportunities, client interaction, and a path to expand our environmental practice.

Responsibilities
  • Project planning and staffing for assignments
  • Mentoring junior staff in daily tasks and workload management
  • Hazardous Building Materials assessment including multi-media sampling
  • Collecting samples for field screening and laboratory analysis (air, soil, groundwater, water, building materials)
  • Responding to releases of oil and hazardous materials
  • Conducting Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments per ASTM standards
  • Managing analytical data, including tabulation, QA/QC, and data evaluation
  • Preparing proposals and assisting with writing technical reports and work plans
  • Overseeing remediation and abatement efforts
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability or field/construction safety
  • 10 to 12 years of experience
  • Massachusetts and Connecticut Asbestos Inspector Licenses
  • Asbestos Designer license preferred but not required
  • Experience conducting inspections & sampling for asbestos-containing building materials
  • Field experience with sample collection and construction oversight
  • Ability to wear respirator and safety equipment as needed
  • Strong collaboration across staff of varying experience levels
  • Flexibility with workload and travel
  • Valid driver's license
