Overview As a Senior Construction Estimator at APTIM, you will lead the development of cost estimates for diverse construction and environmental projects with a focus on federal clients. You will collaborate with BD, engineering, procurement, and proposal teams to shape winning pricing and proposals. You'll work across conceptual, ROM, parametric, and bottom-up estimates, driving accuracy and repeatable estimating processes. This role offers meaningful impact by supporting DoD/DOE/FEMA programs and large multi-discipline proposals.

Responsibilities- Lead development of construction cost estimates from conceptual planning through final proposal submission
- Prepare accurate estimates using limited or evolving project information leveraging historical data and SME input
- Develop and review conceptual, ROM, parametric, and detailed bottom-up estimates across project types
- Lead major proposal estimating efforts with cross-functional teams to deliver pricing packages
- Solicit, evaluate, and incorporate subcontractor and vendor quotations
- Perform constructability reviews, identify risks, assumptions, and cost drivers
- Develop pricing strategies, labor rates, indirect cost allocations, and documentation for multiple contracts
- Review estimates and mentor teammates to promote best practices
- Support proposal development with Business Development and Capture teams
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes, tools, and models
- Present estimates, methodologies, risks, and recommendations to leadership
- Manage multiple estimates and meet aggressive proposal schedules
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience
- 5-10 years of construction/environmental industry experience, preferably federal projects
- 5-7 years estimating and preconstruction experience
- Demonstrated DoD/DOE/FEMA/USACE/GSA experience with government projects
- Strong experience in detailed bottom-up, as well as conceptual, ROM, and parametric estimates
- Proficiency with estimating software (InEight, Sage Estimating/Timberline, RSMeans)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for cost models and data analysis
- Working knowledge of contracts, subcontracts, scheduling, procurement, and change orders
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced proposal environment
