Overview In this role, you will design and deliver learner-centered training for WMATA and other public sector clients, focusing on technical workforce development and operational excellence. You will work with cross-functional teams to create ILT and CBT content, leveraging ADDIE/SAM, accessibility standards, and data-driven evaluation. The position supports mission-critical transit and safety programs through innovative instructional design. This role offers hands-on impact in shaping scalable training solutions for government-facing projects.

Responsibilities- Develop instructor-led and computer-based training materials and assessments
- Collaborate with SMEs to translate technical content into learner-friendly formats
- Apply adult learning theory and accessibility standards in content design
- Manage project timelines, milestones, and risks to ensure timely delivery
- Lead content reviews for accuracy and alignment with learning goals
- Contribute to evaluation efforts using learner feedback and data
- Produce design plans, storyboards, facilitator/participant guides, and job aids
- Design across multiple delivery formats (ILT, CBT, blended) and ensure compliance with standards
Key requirements- 5+ years in instructional design, eLearning development, or curriculum design in technical or transit domains
- Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, or related field
- 3+ years of instructional design experience
- Familiarity with adult learning theory and instructional technologies including ADDIE
- Experience with transit technical training programs (preferred)
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.2
- Experience with LMS platforms and authoring tools including Adobe Captivate and InDesign
